The composer of an argumentative essay should take a strong stand on one side of the argument. Normally, the stance will appear toward the end of the introduction paragraph.

How Do You Write an Essay?

An essay has three parts. The following describes the parts of an essay:

a) Introduction

Immediately after writing the title of an essay, an introduction paragraph follows. The paragraph contains a thesis statement which is a one-sentence that explains the writer’s position. It gives the reader an idea of what the writer thinks about the issue in writing.

b) Body

The body is sandwiched between the introduction and conclusion parts of an essay. It contains the main message or ideas that the writer wants to pass on to the audience.

c) Conclusion

Finally, a good essay must have an interesting and memorable end. That paragraph should sum up the story. It may somehow resemble the introduction, but do not copy your introduction word-to-word.
